My work is about the intensity of the heat and light found in North East Florida. I am most interested in the dynamic relationship between my ever-changing garden and its animals and how they work together to survive. I began as a textile designer out of my passion for the type of imagery you find in wallpaper, textiles and decorative papers. Therefore, I use bold colors, and strong patterns to represent the exchange of energy between the living parts and strong decorative lines to show their movement.
Some of my accomplishments include being chosen as A New Face for a New Decade by Florida Craftsman, two-time Teacher of the Year as a high school art teacher, having artwork in the collection of the City of Orlando, national winner of the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation award, and being juried into state and national art shows. My studio is located at CORK Art District in Jacksonville.
